Today’s post is all about GRAM FLOUR ( chickpea flour)
I was asked by a follower to do a recipe for onion bhajis. So that is why we are making some delicious bhajis and a Socca which is a type of flatbread famous in Nice, in the South of France, for todays food journey. The Socca is completely different from the flatbreads we did last week, equally delicious but more nutritious.
Gram flour is full of healthy nutrients. It’s a great alternative to refined wheat flour; as its lower in carbs and calories yet richer in protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre. It also is gluten free. So a win-win.
2 onions thinly sliced.
100 grams of gram flour.
100 mls of water.
1/2 tea.sp. Baking powder.(g/f).
1/2 tea.sp. Chilli powder.
1/2 tea.sp. Turmeric.
1 green chilli, finely chopped.
Vegetable oil for frying.
75 grams of gram flour.
1/2 tea.sp. Salt.
2 dessert spoons olive oil.
40 mls of water.
1 tablespoon oil for frying.
If anyone would like me to cover a particular ingredient or recipe, please let me know. I have had a request for Cauliflower, so that will be featuring this week.
